Nine CU Baseball/Softball Student-Athletes Named CSC Academic All-District

Five members of the Clarkson University Baseball team and four more from the Clarkson University Softball program were rewarded for their excellence on the field and in the classroom as the 2025-26 College Sports Communicator Academic All-District teams were announced.

The 2026 Academic All-District® Baseball/Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Selections must have a 3.50 grade-point average or better with at least sophomore athletic and academic standing to be considered. Additionally, nominees must compete in at least 90% of athletic competitions, or start 66% of a program's games.

From the Golden Knights' baseball team,juniors Seth Albert, Jacob Shriley, and Beau Vardion received the honor as did sophomores David Harris and CJ Kanick, while senior Kendall Cuyler, juniors Isabel Haspil and Lexi Rydelek, and sophomore Amanda Corrice earned the nod for the Clarkson Softball program. 

Seth Albert, a Financial Information and Analysis major, was a regular in the Golden Knights lineup once again while patrolling the outfield, posting a .274 average with 26 hits, 18 runs batted in and 22 more runs scored, the latter figure ranking third on the team.  

Jacob Shirley, a Mechanical Engineering major, was named a Liberty League All-Star and served as a steady weekend starter for the Golden Knights, ranking among the conference leaders in both innings pitched (58.1) and strikeouts (67) while earning four victories. 

Beau Vardion, a Data Science and Mathematics double major, gained Liberty League All-Star honors for the second straight season as the team's starting shortstop, topping the team's regulars in both OPS and slugging percentage. He slashed .333/.411/.480 with 15 doubles and a team-high 41 hits. 

David Harris, an Engineering and Management major that is earning the honor for the first time as as sophomore, reached base at a .405 clip and had nine extra-base hits while leading the team with 22 runs batted in.

CJ Kanick, an Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering double major also earning the nod for the first time as a sophomore, served as a regular weekend starter for the Golden Knights, picking up five wins and a save in nine appearances, including a complete game shutout. He struck out 41 batters in 36 innings of work.  

Kendall Cuyler, a Mechanical Engineering major, was not eligible for the award a year ago as she missed the season due to injury, but she proved a valuable player in playing a steady center field while ranking third on the team among regulars in on-base percentage at .393. 

Isabel Haspil, an Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering double major, continued with he reliable eye at the dish, leading the team with 14 walks while batting .260 and ranking second on the team with 20 runs batted in.  

Lexi Rydelek, an Environmental Engineering major, was the team's top bopper at the plate, belting six home runs and doubling 13 times en route to a .644 slugging percentage, leading the team with 65 total bases and 25 runs batted in. 

Amanda Corrice, a Mechanical Engineering major eligible for the honor for the first time as a sophomore, threw 44.2 innings in the circle for the Golden Knights, starting nine times and making 19 appearances overall. She posted one win and one save during the campaign, registering 11 strikeouts.
