Clarkson Hockey is pleased to announce the promotion of
Mike Clougherty to the program's coaching staff.
Over the past two seasons, Clougherty has served as a Graduate Assistant, playing an important role in the continued success of the Golden Knights under Head Coach
JF Houle. Throughout his time at Clarkson, he has demonstrated a strong ability to connect with student-athletes while making significant contributions both on and off the ice. His knowledge of the game, commitment to player development, and understanding of what it takes to build a successful culture have made him a valued member of the program. Just as importantly, he exemplifies the values, integrity, and standards that define Clarkson University.
A 2024 graduate of Boston College, Clougherty earned a bachelor's degree in Corporate Systems before completing his Master of Business Administration through Clarkson University's David D. Reh School of Business in the spring of 2026.
Prior to arriving at Clarkson, Clougherty served as Associate Head Coach of the Valley Jr. Warriors and founded Claw Hockey, a successful player development program that has helped athletes across Massachusetts enhance their skills and reach their potential.
In his new role, Clougherty will assist in all aspects of the Clarkson Hockey program, including player development, recruiting, operations, and the pursuit of continued success both on the ice and in the classroom.
"We are excited to welcome Mike into this expanded role," said Head Coach
JF Houle. "He has earned this opportunity through his dedication, work ethic, and commitment to our student-athletes. Mike understands what it means to be part of Clarkson Hockey, and we look forward to the impact he will continue to make on our program."
Clougherty's promotion further strengthens a coaching staff committed to developing student-athletes and advancing the tradition of excellence that has long been synonymous with Clarkson Hockey.
