On a string of five straight wins, the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team heads to New England this week for a non-league contest at Bridgewater State.

The Series: This will be the first meeting between the two teams.

Key Stats for Clarkson (5-1): The Golden Knights had a question mark entering the season: how to replace Madelynn Barnum's impressive all-around statistical output. It hasn't been done by a singular player, which would have been a tall order, but it has been done in the aggregate. Freshman Karli Scherpf has served as the key player for Clarkson on draw controls, having won 20 thus far while also scoring 13 points on 10 goals and three assists. Makenna Cassin has taken over as the defensive portion of Barnum's game with 15 caused turnovers and 14 groundballs while also contributing 15 draws and 16 points.

Key Stats for Bridgewater State (1-5): Just as Clarkson needed to replace Barnum, the Bears needed to replace their top scorer Camryn Gonsalves, who had 113 points on 72 goals and 41 assists in 19 games a year ago. That has proven to be a difficult task so far for Bridgewater State, as the team has already matched last year's loss total when it went 14-5. Meredith Sylvia, who had 67 points a year ago with 54 goals, has 10 points in six games (9-1-10) and is tied for the team lead with Sophia Fleurent (8-2-10), who also leads the team with 31 draw controls and 11 caused turnovers.
