Clarner Leads Knights Nordic on Opening Day of 2026 Season

Jackson, NH – Opening the season with a solid effort, the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team was led by Matthew Clarner in the first race of the season, competing in the White Mountain Classic/Jackson Jaunt at the Jackson Ski Touring Foundation Nordic Ski Area.

Clarner led the Knights in the 10K Skate with a time of 24 minutes, 17 seconds, starting his second collegiate season off with a second-place finish among 85 total skiers in the field. Following Clarner in the top 10 were Torsten Brickley (25:17), Adam Jansen (25:44) and Silas Bartol (26:38).

Only two of Clarkson's women were active for the first weekend. Skylar Francis finished the 10K with a time of 32:46 and Clare Janas ended up with a time of 48:57.
