Barnum Garners Top League Awards, Joined by Two More Knights on Liberty League All-Stars

Women's Lacrosse All-League

Women's Lacrosse | 5/6/2025 11:42:00 AM

Graduate student Madelynn Barnum closed out an exemplary career career while with the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team as she was voted Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year and Liberty League Midfielder of the Year when the conference announced its end-of-year awards on Tuesday morning.

Barnum was also chosen as a Liberty League First-Team All-Star for the fourth time in her career. Fellow graduate student Rylee Ganter was picked as a Liberty League Second-Team All-Star, and Gabby Cranfield was named to the Liberty League Third-Team.

Barnum finished off her collegiate career holding nearly every single-season and career record for the Golden Knights. Her 91 points and 75 goals were new school marks and she led the Liberty League in points per game (5.35 ppg), goals per game (4.41 gpg), and shots per game (8.53 spg) with her in-conference numbers not much different (5.00 ppg, 4.10 gpg), 8.50 spg). She also placed third in the league in draw controls per game at 6.00. Barnum scored at least three points in each of the Knights' 17 games this past season, scoring three goals or more in 16 of 17 contests.

Ganter finished her career ranked second all-time at Clarkson in caused turnovers with 96, trailing Barnum's total by just eight and putting her 16 ahead of the third-place number. Ganter ranked eighth in the conference in caused turnovers per game (1.41 ctpg), but was even better in league play where she caused nearly two per game (1.80 ctpg), which was second in conference-only contests.

Cranfield became the third Golden Knight to lead the Liberty League in assists per game in the past six years, joining Sydney Roderick and Julia Lavarnway. Cranfield averaged 2.71 assists per game overall and had 2.30 per contest in league-only games, both the best figures in the Liberty League. Her 3.82 points per game ranked her ninth in the conference. Entering her junior campaign next spring, she will be on the cusp of 100 career points.
