For the 52nd time in program history, the Golden Knights will play in an ECAC Quarterfinal series as they host the Harvard Crimson this weekend at Cheel. Friday puck drop is 7:00 pm with a 4:00 pm game time on Saturday and 4:00 pm Sunday if a game three is needed.
Clarkson swept the Crimson this season, but knows this talent laden squad will not be an easy out. Clarkson is 58-27-4 all time in ECAC Quarterfinal games and 5-3-1 vs Harvard all time in the Quarters. Clarkson earned a opening round bye as the 2nd seed, while Harvard bounced RPI to advance out of the opening round.
The Award Announcements have had a great start for the Knights as the All ECAC teams have been announced and the first of the major individual awards was handed out.
Ethan Langenegger was named the Ken Dryden Goaltender of the Year, presented by MAC Goaltending. Langenegger joined the Golden Knights this year as a graduate student transfer and played a critical role in Clarkson ending the season ranked nationally. Ethan has posted a 13-6-1 record, with a 0.913 save percentage (3rd in ECAC) and ended the season with an average of only 2.23 goals against (4th in ECAC). Over the course of the season, Langenegger earned two MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the week honors and was MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the month for November. In addition, Langenegger was also selected as a 2025 Hobey Baker nominee.
The ALL ECAC First Team was announced and the Knights owned 4 of the 6 spots. One of the unanimous selections was
Ayrton Martino. Martino was a force on the ice this season, leading the league in goals with 21, in which there was a 7 goal differential between first and second place. The senior also tallied 17 assists (T-2 in ECAC), giving him a total of 38 points and lead the league by over 10 points. Marty had the highest shot percentage at 0.38 and an impressive 8 game winning goals for the Golden Knights.
Ellis Rickwood of Clarkson joins the group, where he scored 6 goals and led the league in assists with 18. A point total of 24 places him tied for 2nd in the league. The center also dominated at the faceoff dot, winning 58% of his 424 faceoffs taken (3rd in ECAC). Rickwood also shined on the powerplay unit for the Golden Knights, where 4 out of 6 of his goals this season came from the man advantage.
Trey Taylor also was named ECAC First Team All Star. The junior was effective on both ends of the ice, scoring 6 goals and 12 assists, finishing as the top defenseman for Clarkson in points. Taylor was an asset to Clarkson's second place powerplay in the league, in which he converted these opportunities into 3 powerplay goals.
Ethan Langenegger was named First Team All ECAC as well as GOY.
Named as an ECAC 2nd Team All Star was
Tristan Sarsland. Sarsland proved effective on both ends of the ice. Scoring 6 goals and 12 assists, the junior found himself in front of the net early and often. Tristan also was 8th in the league for blocked shots with 37 and averaged 0.82 points per game. Sarsland also notched the overtime game winner in the first matchup against top ECAC seed Quinnipiac.
Rounding out the awards was
Tate Taylor as an ECAC All Rookie Team Selection. The younger Taylor brother amassed 15 points in 28 games from the point.
The remaining ECAC awards will be announced heading into the ECAC Championship Weekend in Lake Placid.
