Clarkson Trio Takes Second in Team Skate Sprint

Jackson, NH – The trio of Noah Payne, Kai Richter, and Conner Roberts picked up a second-place finish for the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team as the Golden Knights competed in a Team Sprint on Sunday in the Mansfield Divisionals held at the Jackson Ski Touring Center.

The Golden Knights' men's top team placed second out of 17 competing squads, while the women's top trio placed eighth out of 22 teams. The discipline was a team skate print where each of the three skiers did three laps of 1.3K.

Payne, Richter, and Roberts combined for a time of 35 minutes, 3.6 seconds, about 90 seconds off the pace set by a group from Paul Smiths College. Clarkson's next group of Torsten Brickley, Adam Jansen, and Oliver Dolcino performed well, finishing the race in 36:25.1. Konrad Kremzner, Derek Ferreira, and Andrew Kanclerz also formed another trio, with that team finishing in 41:26.7.

Clarkson's women had just one complete group in the way of Lillian Magnus, Raegan Joly, and Skylar Francis. Those three combined for a time of 41:13.3. Sadie Williams participated with two University of Vermont skiers to finish in 43:23.6, and Clare Janas did the same with two Catamounts, closing the event in 52:55.2.
