Roberts Second in 15K at Prospect Mountain

Skylar Francis took 19th out of 57 in the 15K Classic Saturday at Prospect Mountain

Woodford, VT - Grad student Conner Roberts took the runner-up position on Saturday, as the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team competed in the 15K Classic in an event held at Prospect Mountain.

The Golden Knights' men finished second of seven teams with 18 points, while the Clarkson women were seventh out of seven squads. Both teams will be back in action Sunday in another round of Skate Sprints.

Roberts was a little over three minutes off the pace, finishing second among 54 participants in the 15K Classic with a time of 51 minutes, 25.4 seconds. Clarkson had four other skiers in the top 20, including two more in the top 10 to round out its team scoring. Joey Rouhana was in the sixth spot in 52:52.0 and Oliver Dolcino came in 10th place with a time of 54:41.0. A few spots lower was Kai Richter, who crossed the line in 55:22.0, good enough for 13th place. Adam Jansen then took 19th in 58:33.6. Noah Payne (21st, 58:57.3) and Torsten Brickley (23rd, 59:54.4) were also in the top half of the field.

For Clarkson's women, Skylar Francis was in the top third of 57 participants, ending up in 19th place overall in 1:10:54.3. Roughly five minutes later, Lillian Magnus crossed the finish line, taking 26th in 1:15:29.4. It would be a bit before another Clarkson skier would close the Golden Knights' scoring trio, as Raegan Joly ended up in 47th place in 1:35:08.4. Sadie Williams was one spot lower in 48th (1:35:40.8).
