Roberts and Magnus Stand Out at Clarkson Invitational

Lake Placid, NY – Conner Roberts and Lillian Magnus were the headliners for the Clarkson University Noridc Ski team on Saturday morning, as the two led the way for the Golden Knights in the 9K Skate at Mt. Van Hoevenberg.

The Golden Knights' men finished second out of five teams with 15 points, trailing only Paul Smiths (8) and ahead of Middlebury in the third spot. Clarkson's women took the fourth spot out of four teams with 42 points.

Roberts was the runner-up in the 9K Skate for the Knights, finishing the race in 26 minutes, 3.7 seconds for second place among 32 participants. Clarkson had two more skiers in the top seven with Joey Rouhana and Kai Richter finishing 10 seconds apart for sixth and seventh. Rouhana crossed the finish line in 27:57.6 and Richter raced to a time of 28:07.3 to finish off Clarkson's team scoring. Oliver Dolcino (13th, 29:46.5), Adam Jansen (14th, 30:03.1), Torston Brickley (15th, 30:06.8), and Noah Payne (16th, 30:37.3) also were in the top half of participants.

On the women's side, the Golden Knights had just three of their five skiers able to complete the course. Lillian Magnus still finished in eighth place among 33 skiers with a time of 34:07.3. Next for the Knights was first-year Skylar Francis, who took 11th in 35:36.4, and Raegan Joly placed 23rd in 44:49.8 to finish off Clarkson's team score.
