Richter and Schieffert Top Skiers for Knights' Nordic at USCSA Nationals in 15K

Mammoth Lakes, CA – Three skiers from the Clarkson University Nordic Ski teams finished in the top 15 on Thursday as the Golden Knights competed in the USCSA National Championships 15K Freestyle at Mammoth Mountain.

The Golden Knights' men took third out of 12 teams with 47 points, while Clarkson's women were eighth of 11 teams with 65 points.

The top performer of the day for the Knights was senior Kai Richter, as he placed 10th out of 61 skiers in the event, a little less than three minutes behind the pace-setter in the race. Conner Roberts was two spots down the leaderboard in 12th, 15 seconds behind Richter, and Clarkson's team score was closed out by Cameron Bancroft, who came in 29th, a little over two minutes behind Roberts. Joey Rouhana (36th), Hunter Krebs (42nd), and Noah Payne (44th) were outside of Clarkson's team scoring.

On the women's side, both Ava Schieffert and Lillian Magnus placed in the top 20 in the field of 47 skiers. Schieffert was just over five minutes behind the winner, taking 14th place overall, while Magnus came in 20th, a little over two minutes after Schieffert crossed the finish line. Ava Frost did not start the event.
