Roberts on Podium for 7.5K Classic at ECSC Regionals

Lake Placid, NY – Conner Roberts picked up a third-place finish in the 7.5K Classic to lead the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team on Sunday morning as the Golden Knights competed in the ECSC Regionals.

The Golden Knights' men were second out of seven teams with three skiers in the top 10, while the women finished seventh out of eight squads.

Roberts reached the podium in the 7.5K Classic with his third-place showing (among 50 skiers), as he completed the course in 20 minutes, 19 seconds. Frosh Joey Rouhana was one spot behind in fourth in 20:58 and senior Kai Richter took the seventh spot in 21:34, giving Clarkson 14 points in the team scoring, six behind leader Paul Smiths, which had the top two skiers and a fifth-place finisher. Hunter Krebs took 17th overall for the Knights with a time of 22:46 and Cameron Bancroft, fresh off taking third in the sprint on Saturday, came in 18th in 22:57. Noah Payne was also in the top 30, coming in 29th with a time of 24:30.

For the women, Ava Schieffert and Lillian Magnus finished just five seconds apart, with Schieffert taking 13th in 28:48 and Magnus placing 14th in 28:53. Ava Frost, new to the team this weekend to help Clarkson record complete team scores, was 46th out of 46 participants.
