First-Year Rouhana Takes Fifth at Mansfield Divisionals

Ripton, VT – Freshman Joey Rouhana took fifth place and was followed closely by Conner Roberts in sixth as the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team took second place at the Mansfield Divisionals, held Saturday at the Rickert Nordic Center.

The Golden Knights' men ended up in second place out of eight teams with 21 points, while the women had an incomplete team score with two skiers. Clarkson will be back in action on Sunday morning, competing in the Team Sprint Relays.

Rouhana finished in fifth place among 70 skiers with a time of 41 minutes, 42 seconds in the 15K Skate race, and Roberts was just four seconds behind in 41:46. Only 14 more seconds passed before Clarkson's team score was completed, as Kai Richter finished in 42 minutes flat, good enough for 10th place. Clarkson saw three more of its skiers finish in the top half of the field, as Cameron Roberts came in 17th in 44:08, Hunter Krebs was 30th in 45:59, and Noah Payne claimed 34th with a time of 46:39.

On the women's side, both of Clarkson's female skiers ended up in the top third of the 60-participant field. Ava Schieffert snuck into the top 10 in ninth place overall in 53:49, only 2:33 behind the pacesetter, while Magnus came in 19th place in 57:29.
