Rouhana and Schieffert Lead Knights at Clarkson Invitational

Lake Placid, NY - Freshman Joey Rouhana and senior Ava Schieffert were the top finishers for the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team on Saturday, as each skier finished in the top 10 in the Clarkson Invitational, held at Mt. Van Hoevenberg.

The Golden Knights' men placed second out of eight teams in the event, while the Clarkson women did not have enough participants to complete a team score. The Green and Gold will participate in the team sprint relay on Sunday.

Each of Clarkson's female skiers were in the top 15. Senior Ava Schieffert came in 10^th place out of 52 starters in the 10K Skate, finishing with a time of 38:01.2, while junior Lillian Magnus was in the 15^th spot in 39:02.5.

On the men's side, freshman Joey Rouhana and senior Kai Richter finished in back-to-back spots and only a few seconds apart. Rouhana ended up in sixth place in 29:34.8 and Richter came in seventh in 29:37.3. Each jumped a handful of spots after the first marker, as Rouhana jumped from eighth to sixth and Richter edged up from 14th to seventh. Conner Roberts was in the second position after the marker, but slipped back to 15th with a time of 30:34.3 to close out Clarkson's team scoring. Also ending up in the top 20 were Cameron Bancroft, who came in 17th in 31:34.4, and Noah Payne, who took 19th in 31:59.9.
