Palmatier and Poole Tie for 5th at SLU Invite

Canton, NY – Andrew Palmatier had the best round of the day for the Clarkson University Golf team, as the sophomore fired a 75 to help pace the Golden Knights at the St. Lawrence Invitational, held at the 6679-yard, par-72 Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course.

The Golden Knights finished third among nine teams with a two-day score of 643, dropping nine strokes off their team effort from day one. Clarkson's second group finished at 656.

Palmatier finished in a tie for fifth among the 52 golfers overall with a two-day tally of 155. On Sunday, he shot 75 with a strong round, recording 11 pars and birdies on the par-five fourth hole and another on the par-four 14th hole. Dale Turner finished with a 78 thanks to birdies on 11 and 16, as well as 10 pars, helping him place in a tie for 18th overall. Casey Ditzel also had a birdie on 12 with nine pars, shooting 81 for a two-day score of 160, which tied him for 13th. Clarkson's 'A' team score was completed with Aaron Walsh's 83, giving him a tournament score of 166, which was in the middle of the pack in 25th. Brant Bomberger shot 88 with a birdie on 18, and he ended up in a tie for 32nd with a score of 172.

Clarkson's second team also had a better day than its first trip out. Zander Poole shot 78 with four birdies, registering one-under on two par-fours and two par-threes. Poole's score of 155 tied for Clarkson's best score of the weekend with Palmatier, putting him a tie for fifth overall. Luke Baringer shot 79 with a consistent round that saw him produce 12 pars and a birdie on 18, helping him tie for 21st overall with a score of 164. Dylan Farr was also in that same tie, having notched nine pars and a birdie on the par-three third hole. Jacob Dutch dropped nine strokes off his day one score to card an 85 on day two, finishing in 43rd with 179 strokes. Outside of the Clarkson 'B' team's score was Alex Lawliss, who finished the tournament in 49th.

Playing as individuals, Alec Chase took 38th and Brennan Moreau came in 39th.
