Roberts and Schieffert Lead Knights at ECSC Regionals

North Creek, NY - Conner Roberts and Ava Schieffert were inside the top three of the 7.5K Freestyle for the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team as the Golden Knights closed out the ECSC Regionals on Sunday at the Gore Ski Bowl.

Both the Golden Knights' men and women finished in second place on Sunday, but each team will be advancing to the USCSA National Championships in early March.

Ava Schieffert finished third in the field of 49 skiers with a time of 22 minutes, 8 seconds to lead the Golden Knights' women. Lillian Magnus also appeared in the top 10, taking eighth in 22:50, and Melissa Brown closed out Clarkson's team results by coming in 17th in 24:31.

Clarkson had four more skiers in the bottom half of the field as Gabriella Broga was 34th (28:41), Hannah Yorkey came in 36th (29:15), Kathryn Konopko took 38th (31:06), and Gianna Capoccia placed 43rd (34:43.).

The men placed three skiers in the top 10, led by Conner Roberts as runner-up among 50 skiers, ending the race in 16:56. Simon Zehr came in eighth in 17:47 and Cameron Bancroft finished two spots later in 10th with a time of 18:03 to round out Clarkson's team scoring.

Hunter Krebs was also in the top 20, taking 19^th (18:55) while both Noah Payne (23rd, 19:19) and Thomas Robinson (25th, 19:28) placed in the top half as well. Further down the list were Eric Nowak (40th, 23:00), Konrad Kremzner (43rd, 23:25), and Derek Ferreira (44th, 24:01).
