Dillon Leads Knights at Kangaroos Invitational

Canton, NY - After numerous golfers finished in the 70s on Saturday in Potsdam, scores across the board were higher for the Clarkson University Golf team at the Kangaroo Invitational as the Golden Knights finished third on Sunday at Partridge Run Golf Course.

Only one Clarkson golfer shot sub-80 on Sunday, as senior Steve Dillon carded a 79 to lead Clarkson's 'A' team, which produced a cumulative score of 327. Dillon posted a pair of birdies, shooting one under the par-four fourth hole and par-five number-12, shooting 42 on the front nine and 37 on the back nine. Andrew Leek shot 41 on both the front and back to score 82, while Cameron Anthony, Casey Ditzel, and Zach Pilarchik each scored 83 on the first group of five for the Knights.

Clarkson's 'B' squad ended up with a team score of 351, led by Jonah Miller (85) and Brennan Moreau (85). Justin Perry (90) and Mike DiPaola (91) rounded out the top four on the second squad, while Alec Chase ended up with a 95. Playing as individuals, Spencer Gorton shot 90 and Jacob Benware scored 91.

Clarkson will play next Friday at Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course in Canton and then play one round at Turning Stone on Sunday in preparation for the Liberty League Championships.
