CU Women's Lacrosse Preview - vs. St. Lawrence (4/16-17)

Two weeks after the games were originally scheduled, the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team and St. Lawrence will lock up in a home-and-home series as each team looks to improve upon its position in the Liberty League standings.

The Series: St. Lawrence holds an overwhelming 40-4 lead dating back to the first game between the two teams in 1979, but all four of the Golden Knights' wins have come in the last five meetings, including a 19-10 Clarkson win in 2019.

Key Stats for Clarkson (2-5, 0-3 Liberty League): Grad student Katie Sergeant has six points in four games (5-1-6) since rejoining the team in late March, and she has enjoyed success against the Saints, scoring three goals in both the 2018 and 2019 games. Junior Sydney Roderick scored nine points in her last game and now leads the team in scoring with 25 points on 11 goals and 14 assists. Senior Kyrsten Stone is second on the team in points (20), goals (13) and assists (7) while junior Grace Hagberg has the team-lead in goals with 17, scoring on 56.7% of her shots. Hagberg also ranks second in draw controls with 20, one behind Madelynn Barnum, who is also tied for the team lead in caused turnovers with Kyrsten Stone and Sarah Duhaime, as each have seven.

Key Stats for St. Lawrence (2-1, 1-1 Liberty League): The Saints haven't played since the last weekend of March when they split their opening conference series with Union, losing on day one but claiming a victory in the series' second game. Although it's a small sample size, the Saints are averaging 16.33 goals per game, including 14 goals in both games against Union. Charlotte Powell leads the team with 18 points on 14 goals and four assists while Isabel Silvia has 15 points to go along with 10 draw controls and four caused turnovers. Jamie Allan has also chipped in 11 goals to the team's offense. Jacquie Cloutier is the team's leader in draws (20), groundballs (7), and caused turnovers (5).
