"Coming off an ECAC Tournament Championship and another NCAA tournament experience, we are eager about turning the page on last season and starting our 2019-20 journey," stated Casey Jones, the Leonard S. Ceglarski Endowed Chair for the Clarkson University Hockey program.Â
Clarkson enjoyed a strong season in 2018-19, when the Golden Knights were ranked as one of the top teams in the nation, skating to a 26-11-2 overall record, including a 13-7-2 ECAC Hockey mark, won the program's sixth ECAC Hockey Championship Tournament title and advance to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season. "Once again the NHL spent a lot of time around our team last season as we lost another two underclassmen to pro contracts with the departure of Nico Sturm (Minnesota) and Jake Kielly (Vancouver)," said Jones.  "But our staff believes that we have done a good job on the recruiting trail and will be adding some talented players to a deep returning roster. Our home-ice advantage will take on a whole new meaning this year with the renovations to Cheel slated to be completed for the start of our season. Exciting times for Clarkson Hockey!"
Clarkson officially opens its 98th season with a two-game series against Big10 foe the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on October 11-12. The Golden Knights' regular-season home slate commences on the University's Parents Weekend as the Green and Gold host Hockey East opponents University of Vermont and Providence College, a NCAA Frozen Four participant last year. Clarkson closes out the first month of the season with another Big10 weekend series in the Midwest, playing two against the University of Wisconsin in Madison On October 25-26.
"I have a strong belief that you need to challenge yourself with your non-conference schedule and this season our fans will again get to see just that," said Jones. "The ECAC should be extremely competitive this season after placing four teams in the NCAA tournament a year ago. Many of the top teams return good rosters that will make every game an exciting one."Â
After pair of non-league games against archrival St. Lawrence University, in Canton on November 1 and in Potsdam on November 2, the Knights open ECAC Hockey play with a trip to NY's Capital District to face Union College and Rensselaer on November 8-9.

The 2019 portion of the schedule comes to a close with another trip out to the Midwest to Michigan's Upper Peninsula for a two-game series at WCHA foe Michigan Tech in Marquette on December 13-14.
The New Year begins with Clarkson playing eight of its first 10 games of 2020 in Potsdam. The Green and Gold host four straight ECAC contests to start the second semester as Rensselaer and Union visit Cheel on January 3-4, followed by Princeton and Quinnipiac Universities on January 10-11.
Arizona State, a 2019 NCAA Tournament participant, travels out East for Clarkson's final non-league games on January 24-25 during the University's Cold Out, Gold Out (COGO) weekend at Cheel.

The Knights get an early jump to the 34-game regular-season schedule with an exhibition contest against Canadian college foe the Royal Military College on Saturday, October 5 to begin its 29th season at Cheel Arena.
Clarkson posts an impressive 1,462-873-162 overall record since the 1920-21 campaign for an all-time winning percentage of .618, among the best in the country. The Knights have posted 74 winning seasons, participated in 22 NCAA Tournaments, including three championship games, won 10 ECAC Hockey Regular Season titles and have skated away with six ECAC Tournament championship trophies during the program's illustrious history.
