Three Knights Earn Liberty League Women's Lacrosse All-Star Nods

Three key figures for the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team's high-powered offense were recognized as conference standouts on Tuesday as senior Jaid Baytos, junior Abby Collins, and freshman Sydney Roderick were picked as Liberty League Second-Team All-Stars.

This is the third time that Baytos was named as a Liberty League Second-Team All-Star and the third time that Collins has earned all-conference honors, though it is her first time as a Liberty League Second-Team member following two years on honorable mention.

Baytos wrapped up her career with another fine season despite being slowed by injuries. She still managed to score 55 points on 44 goals and 11 assists, adding in 23 groundballs, 15 caused turnovers and a team-high 70 draw controls. For her career, Baytos finished with 184 points, the fourth-most in program history, with 140 goals (fifth) and 44 assists.

The all-around quality of Abby Collins was noticed by league coaches, as she ranked fourth on the team in points (44), thanks to 27 goals and 17 assists, while leading the squad in groundballs (34) and caused turnovers (24) and ranking second in draw controls (48). Collins surpassed the 100-point mark late in the season and pushed her career total to 116 points (82 goals, 34 assists), putting her in a tie for 13th in program history.

Roderick produced the most prolific offensive season by a first-year player in program history, scoring 82 points on 33 goals and 49 assists. Her 82 points were the second most by any player in 41 years of Clarkson Women's Lacrosse, while her 49 assists broke the single-season mark and more than doubled the output of any previous freshman. She led the league in assists per game (2.58) and was third in points per game (4.32).
