Senior Brad Pearson became the third player for the Clarkson University Baseball team this century to be chosen as an All-American, as he gained d3baseball.com honorable mention honors when the teams were announced on Tuesday.

D3baseball.com posted four named teams and then an honorable mention team, with only one player picked per position per team (besides outfield and starting pitcher). Click here for complete list and release.

Pearson was also picked as a d3baseball.com New York Region First-Team All-Star, and he was joined by junior teammate Nate Burns an all-region selection, as Burns was picked for New York Region Second-Team status. Click here for complete list of New York All-Region teams.

The duo also repeated the honors for the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region selections. Click here for the complete list of ABCA/Rawlings All-Region picks.

Pearson joins third baseman/pitcher David Kinney (2011-12) and left-handed pitcher Matt Nolan (2000) as players who have achieved All-American status since the turn of the century.

A Liberty League First-Team All-Star, Pearson was forced into the designated hitter role due to injury before returning to the outfield late in the season, but he still managed to hit at a .371/.430/593 clip for the year. He also stroked 24 extra-base hits, including 20 doubles, tied for 11th in the country, and his rate of 0.53 doubles per game is eighth in the country. He scored 42 runs and drove in 34 more while striking for 52 hits overall. Seventeen of his 24 extra-base hits and 24 of his 34 runs batted in came in conference games.

A Liberty League Second-Team All-Star, Burns was picked as the all-region second team's reliever as well. Burns was barely edged for the conference's earned run average title on the last day of the Liberty League Tournament, but following the NCAAs he edged back up to the top spot as the only qualifying pitcher to post a sub-2.00 ERA, finishing at 1.69, which ranks 21st in the country. He was 2-1 with a save in 15 appearances and struck out 54 hitters in 53.1 innings, with his strikeout total ranking fourth in the conference.
