For the second year in a row, a pair of teammates from the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 honors as seniors John Furcick and Ian Roeloffs were the latest to receive the prestigious honor. Both will now move on to the national ballot, with Academic All-Americans to be announced in early December.

This marks the 16th and 17th times that members of the Golden Knights' Men's Soccer team have earned CoSIDA notice over the years, Roeloffs becomes the 12th different player to earn the honor for Clarkson, while Furcick joins Scott Desmond (2008, 2009, 2010) as the program's only three-time winners.

Furcick, who also was named as a Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-American Second-Team member a year ago, is a double-major with a 3.97 grade-point average while studying Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Furcick was a key part of Clarkson's defensive and offensive efforts for the past four years and scored four points on a goal and two assists in 18 games in 2019, which included nine starting nods.

Roeloffs, a senior with a 3.95 grade-point average in Mechanical Engineering through seven semesters, enjoyed a breakout season where he was also named a Liberty League First-Team All-Star. Roeloffs started 18 games and produced a 0.88 goals against average and .824 save percentage, posting nine shutouts overall, just one short of the Clarkson single-season record. Eight of his nine shutouts came against Liberty League foes.
