CU Volleyball Preview - at Oswego State (9/26)

Having dropped three straight matches, the Clarkson University Volleyball team is looking to get back on the winning track on Wednesday when it travels for a non-league match against Oswego State.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: The Golden Knights have not lost to Oswego State since 2002, a season in which they actually went 3-1 against the Lakers. The two teams are knotted up at 19-19 in the all-time match up, but only four of those matches have occurred in the last decade, with Clarkson winning all four.

Key Stats for Clarkson (7-6): The Golden Knights are currently on a three-game losing skid in which the team is hitting just .093 (121-76-485), and of those 76 errors only 15 came on opponent's blocks. However, all of Clarkson's other facets are performing well during the small losing streak, including 20.38 digs per set. The Green and Gold rank fourth in the nation in digs per set (21.49 dps) and junior Kate Isaksen is second in that category (7.92 dps), positions that held from last week at this time. Clarkson moved up to 40th in NCAA Division III in blocks per set, thanks in large part to junior Rachel Reusch's conference leading 1.08 bps. She easily leads the conference in total blocks with 55 and has more than double the solo blocks (21) of any other player in the league. In fact, only one team in the conference has more solo blocks than Reusch (RIT, 32).

Key Stats for Oswego State (11-6): The Lakers have yet to find a go-to player on offense as no player on the team averages three points per set and only Alison Sullivan is scoring more than two kills per set (2.31). The Lakers are averaging 2.52 aces per set, led by Alison Berger's 38 total aces (0.66 aps). Sullivan and Lauren Fie are forming a difficult block in the middle, combining for 95 blocks, including 31 solo efforts. Sullivan is posting 1.00 blocks per set and Fie is averaging 0.80 blocks per set.
