Clarkson Duo Earns Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 Honors

For just the second time in program history, two student-athletes from the Clarkson University Men's Soccer program earned Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 honors as senior James Homan and junior John Furcick earned the awards when the organization announced its All-District winners on Thursday afternoon.

Furcick is the program's fourth two-time selection and Homan became the 10th different Clarkson men's soccer player to earn the honor since Oliver Koehler became the program's first recipient back in 1993. The duo will move on to the national ballot, which will be announced in November.

Through five semester, Furcick still maintains a flawless 4.00 grade-point average with a double-major in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Furcick was one of four players to start all 17 games this year for the Golden Knights, ranking fourth on the team in minutes played with 1,419. He scored one goal and was a key part of the Clarkson defense, which allowed a conference-low 10 goals in 2018.

Through seven semesters, Homan possesses a 3.82 grade-point average in Engineering & Management. The Liberty League's Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time conference all-star, Homan not only helped put the Clarkson defense in the top 20 nationally in a number of categories, but he added three goals, including two game-winners. Homan ranked third on the team in minutes played with 1,456, playing full time in 14 of his 16 starts.
