If the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team is to make a move in the Liberty League standings, Tuesday evening's game against St. Lawrence would be a good start, as the Golden Knights will take on their nearest conference rival in a key conference match up at 7:00 pm at Hantz Turf Field.

The Golden Knights, 4-8 overall and 1-3 in the Liberty League, need a victory in conference play to keep alive in the the Liberty League standings as a push into this weekend's games. Though Clarkson has never beaten St. Lawrence in 38 meetings, six of the last 10 contests have been decided by four goals or fewer, including a 16-13 win for the Saints in 2013.

Sophomore Christine Wright (Watertown, NY) recorded four goals and collected five draw controls in the loss to the Saints last year and is making the same waves in her second season with the Knights, having scored 36 points through 10 games in 2014. She leads the conference in assists per game (1.70) and is also among the league leader in points (3.60 ppg) with 19 goals and 17 assists. She ranks among the team leaders in groundballs (13) and draw controls (20). Freshman Paige Fayette (Theresa, NY) is one of the top rookies in the conference this year and is also among the league leaders in points (42) and goals (31) through 12 contests, ranking second on the team in groundballs (21). Classmate Ashley Flick (Watertown, NY) has chipped in 18 goals so far and junior Danielle Faivus (Oswego, NY) has produced 12 points on 10 goals and two assists.

Junior Cassie Grace (Potsdam, NY) has also accumulated 21 groundballs and 17 draw controls while Emma Jeffery (Baldwinsville, NY) has added in 18 groundballs and nine caused turnovers.

St. Lawrence has a much more diverse offense with no player have produced more than 16 points this year. Carly VanTassel leads the team with 16 points on 14 goals and two assists, but five other players have also scored in double figures. Chloe Knapp has 13 goals and an assist to go along with 10 draw controls, and Kiera Taussing has 13 points on 11 goals and two assists, to go along with 26 draws, 19 groundballs and 11 caused turnovers. Caroline Bailey doesn't have the same peripheral statistics, but she, too, has accumulated 13 points on 11 goals and two assists, and Michaela Maybe has 12 points with 10 goals and has scooped up 13 groundballs.
