A lengthy winning streak over its archrival came to an end for the Clarkson University Hockey team against St. Lawrence as the Saints skated to a 4-1 victory over the Golden Knights at the 1980 Herb Brooks Arena in non-league action at Festivus Faceoff in Lake Placid on Saturday night.

Clarkson, which defeated St. Lawrence 5-3 on Tuesday night in Canton for its fourth straight victory over the Saints, drops to 9-7-4 overall. The Knights are now off until December 29-30 when they participate in the Everblades College Classic in Estero, FL.

After a scoreless first period, St. Lawrence (6-10) grabbed a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes with a pair of power-plays goals. The Saints went on top first when Kyle Essery skated in from the point after a Clarkson defenseman fell and connected on a shot from the right circle at 6:28.

The Knights tied the game when senior Corey Tamblyn (Bobcaygeon, ONT) knocked in a rebound at the top of the crease off a shot by senior linemate Jake Morley (Ogdensburg, NY) at 15:01 for his seventh goal of the season. Sophomore defenseman Chase Fuchs (Severna Park, MD) also assisted for his first collegiate point.
