FRESHMAN SEASON (2025-26):  Mallette gained valuable experience on Clarkson’s blue line during her freshman season, appearing in 25 games for the Golden Knights. The defenseman recorded three assists, 31 shots on goal, 24 blocked shots and a plus-three rating while adjusting to the pace and physical demands of Division I hockey.

Mallette recorded two of her three points during ECAC Hockey competition. One of her notable contributions came in Clarkson’s 4-2 victory over Brown on November 21, when she assisted on Madison Chantler’s third-period goal. The play helped the Golden Knights secure an important conference win at Cheel Arena. The Kelowna, British Columbia, native added another assist in Clarkson’s record-setting 15-0 victory over Saint Michael’s on January 2. Mallette helped set up Janelle Evans’ second-period goal as the Golden Knights established a new program record for goals in a game.

At 5-foot-10, Mallette brought size, reach and a physical presence to Clarkson’s defensive corps. Her shot-blocking ability and willingness to compete in difficult areas allowed her to contribute beyond the scoresheet. The experience she gained throughout her freshman campaign provided a strong foundation for an expanded role on the Golden Knights’ blue line.

BEFORE CLARKSON: 

Kaitlyn Mallette joins Clarkson as a freshman defense after four strong seasons with RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna in the CSSHL.

A steady, right-shot blue-liner with great size at 5'10", Mallette tallied 22 points (8G, 14A) in 30 games in 2024-2025 season and 13 points (2G, 11A) in 30 games during the 2023–24 campaign, showcasing her ability to contribute at both ends of the ice. A product of British Columbia’s elite development pipeline (two seasons with Team BC), Mallette brings a physical presence and reliable two-way game to the Golden Knights' defensive corps.
