Home for the second time this week, the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team continues its early season stretch against SUNYAC foes as the Golden Knights host Plattsburgh State on Saturday afternoon at Hantz Field.

The Series: The teams have tied in each of their last two meetings, including a 1-1 tie in 2025 that saw the Cardinals score in the final 30 seconds.

Key Stats for Clarkson (1-0): The Golden Knights enjoyed a 16-4 edge in shots on Tuesday against Oswego State, a good start for a team that sometimes struggled to get attempts off a year ago. Clarkson topped 15 shots in a game only three times a year ago with a high mark of 20. Paul Rolland and Bodie Smith each scored in the second half against Oswego State in the season-opener.

Key Stats for Plattsburgh State (0-1): This will be the second trip to St. Lawrence County for the Cardinals this week as the team played SLU in their opener earlier this week. Plattsburgh went 10-3-5 a year ago, but was bounced in the opening round of the SUNYAC Tournament against Fredonia. Five of the six top scorers from 2025 have returned, including Xavier Kamba (5-1-11) and Tristan Laundree (3-4-10). Goalkeeper Matthew D'Ippolito rarely left the goal in 2025, posting a 0.79 goals against average and 50 saves for a .781 save percentage. He had seven saves on Tuesday against the Saints.
