Kanick and Hotchkiss Named Liberty League Pitchers of the Week

Both the Clarkson University Baseball and Softball teams got standout performances from members of their pitching staff this past week, as CJ Kanick and Bella Hotchkiss were named Liberty League Pitcher of the Week for their respective sports.

Kanick went seven scoreless innings in a 10-0 shutout win that was shortened due to time constraints/run rule in Florida, but he cruised along nevertheless. The sophomore from Buffalo, NY allowed only one hit and one walk and struck out 13 batters, the most by any Clarkson hurler since early in the 2022 season.

In her lone start of the week, Hotchkiss matched Kanick with seven shutout frames against Plymouth State, utilizing more contact outs. The sophomore from Baldwinsville, NY gave up two hits and no walks with four strikeouts to keep her earned run average for the season at 0.00.
