Clarkson went to overtime for the 4th straight game and
Mathieu Gosselin's overtime goal gave the Knights their 3rd win in OT over that stretch.
After a scoreless 1st period,
Tristan Sarsland was able to convert on a rebound attempt at 11:29 to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. For Sarsland, it was his 5th goal on the season and the first of several on the special teams for the Knights.
Clarkson would go on the power play again at 13:33 but Zach Tupker was able to get the Bobcats even with a shorthanded goal at 15:11.
Noah Beck would go off for interference at 17:50, allowing
Erik Bargholtz to get a short handed goal at 18:26 to regain the lead for the Knights. It's the 4th short handed goal of the season for the Knights.
Cooper Moore would score the only full strength goal of the game at 7:38 of the 3rd period.
Quinnipiac would get a power play with 2:02 remaining, but an Interference call on Jayden Lee with 25 seconds in the game would allow the Knights to start the OT with the 4-3 advantage. With the power play about to expire, the Knights would get the puck to the net and
Mathieu Gosselin would deposit behind Vinny Duplessis for the overtime win.
The Knights out shot Quinnipiac 29 to 25,
Austin Roden made 23 saves for the win. Clarkson was 2 for 6 on the power play while holding the Bobcats 0 for 5 with the man advantage.
With the OT win and Dartmouth's win over Brown in regulation, the Knights drop to 5th in the standings. Union's win brings them a point closer as well. The Knights can still catch Dartmouth with any result that nets them 2 more points than the Big Green get. Union is right behind with 32 points, they can only catch the Knights with a result that is 1 point more than what Clarkson earns. Clarkson cannot fall further than 6th in the standings.
Tomorrow the Knights will take on Princeton at Hobey Baker Rink.
