The Series: The two teams tied 1-1 in the regular season, part of Clarkson's unbeaten run to end the campaign. The Brewers did hold a 22-11 edge in shots, but the margins were considerably narrower in regards to shots on goal (6-5) and corner kicks (4-3). Gianna Panarelli scored in the 48th minute to put Vassar on top, but Chloe Hodge tied the game in the 70th minute for the Golden Knights.
Key Stats for Clarkson (5-6-5, 2-3-4 Liberty League): The Golden Knights' defense has allowed more than one goal in a game only once in its past eight contests, dating back to late-September, and has a run of one goal or fewer given up its last six contests. This has come despite some defensive shuffling late in the season due to some injuries and positional adjustments, but Arin Bates and Julia Tylar have stood out as usual, with both amassing more than 1300 minutes on the pitch. Molly DiCaprio has seen her goals against average steadily decrease in October, having stopped 23 of 27 shots on goal since October 12th for a 0.67 goals against average in that span.
Key Stats for Vassar (10-2-5, 5-1-3 Liberty League): The Brewers, receiving votes in the latest national poll, rank as the top offensive team in the Liberty League with 45 goals scored in 17 games, though that offense cooled along with the weather in October. In the month of September, Vassar scored 33 goals in its first nine games, but October saw the Brewers find the back of the net 12 times in eight games. Alice Crowley is tied for the conference lead in goals (12) and points (27), but she has been quieted somewhat recently, recording just an assist in her past four games (coming against Clarkson). Madison Bouggess (6-0-12), Gianna Panarelli (5-1-11), and Riley McGrath (5-1-11) are also contributors to the Vassar offense. Â
