Another weekend will be split between a conference match and a non-league affair as the Clarkson University Volleyball team hosts Skidmore College and Cortland State on Saturday at Alumni Gymnasium.

The Series: The Golden Knights are catching up to Skidmore in the all-time series, trailing 25-29 in 54 all-time meetings, but Clarkson has won the past 15 matches, none of which have required a fifth set. Against Cortland State, the Knights are 5-11, having lost three straight to the Red Dragons from 2021-2023.

Key Stats for Clarkson (7-10, 1-2 Liberty League): First-year collegian Grace Hanson produced a solid showing over the weekend, delivering 34 kills in three matches (3.09 kps) to push her season average to 2.20 kills per game, giving the Knights three players with two kills or more per set (Marin Hangliter, 2.62 kps; Allyson Treichel, 2.38 kps). Junior setter Ashley Currier kept her offensive output around the same despite becoming the team's primary setter in the past four matches, and is averaging 3.84 assists and 1.30 kills per set overall. Cecilia Velardi stepped up her game from the service line over the weekend, notching nine aces overall (0.82 per set).

Key Stats for Skidmore (6-12, 1-3 Liberty League): The Thoroughbreds do not have a go-to hitter on their team, as four players have more than 250 attacks. Madison Manning (2.22 kps), Rudi Reyes (1.92 kps), Jazlin Chen (1.82 kps), and Natalie Pedersen (1.61 kps) are all options for setter Catriona Hoelperl (6.15 assists per set). Chen is also providing points on the defensive side of the net, scoring 0.73 blocks per set, including 17 solo blocks, the most solo efforts in the Liberty League.

Key Stats for Cortland State (13-5): The Red Dragons face conference foe Plattsburgh State on Friday evening before trekking over to Potsdam for a match against the Knights on Saturday afternoon. Cortland is averaging 13.58 kills per set, thanks to hitters Jennifer Koestner (3.54 kps), Anna Pilkey (3.08 kps), and Alexa Guedez (2.40 kps). Guedez is hitting .307 and Koestner is scoring at a rate of .231 for the Red Dragons. Cortland also has an imposing block, with Emma Reilly (1.29), Guedez (1.04), and Anna Lynch (1.00) each providing more than a block per set.
