Junior Anne Cherkowski of the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team has been selected for College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American At-Large Second-Team honors, as the organization announced its picks on Thursday afternoon.

Cherkowski is the first female to earn CSC Academic All-American At-Large honors at Clarkson since Anne Witkowski in 2019, and is the seventh female overall to achieve the status. Shea Tiley (2017) and Vanessa Gagnon (2014) are former Clarkson Women's Hockey players to have been picked as well.

List of Clarkson University CSC/CoSIDA Academic All-Americans

Cherkowski, who has a 4.00 GPA in Civil Engineering at Clarkson, was one of 17 selections for the second team and one of 49 total picks across NCAA Division I. The At-Large teams are for the many sports that do not have their own CSC Academic All-American teams. This year's choices included student-athletes from women's lacrosse, fencing, beach volleyball, water polo, golf, rowing, skiing, gymnastics, field hockey, rifle, and ice hockey, among others.

In her second season at Clarkson, Cherkowski took a significant jump in scoring, finishing tied for the team lead in points with 52 while ranking first in goals (23) and second in assists (29) in 40 total games. She also was second on the team in shots with 143 and had eight power-play goals to go along with a plus-minus of +23.

Prior to Clarkson, Cherkowski participated in the IIHF Women's World U18 Championships in 2019 and 2020, earning a silver medal as assistant captain in 2020 and a gold in 2019.
