Potsdam, NY – In a game that was marked by some rough play at the end, the Knights end up dropping a 2-0 decision to Colgate this afternoon at Cheel.
The first period saw the Raiders hold a slight 8-7 shot advantage but neither team could get on the scoreboard.
At 10:24 of the 2nd period, Colgate would strike first, when Kaitlyn O'Donohoe was able to tap in a loose puck in the crease, after Serdachny's shot.
In the 3rd period, the Knights were pressing, but at 9:44 Sammy Smigliani put the Raiders up 2-0.
With 1:04 left on the clock, Kristýna Kaltounková was coming out of the penalty box when she caught
Nicole Gosling to the head, which caused a huge scuffle to ensue. After the dust had settled, Kaltounková and Clarkson's
Brooke McQuigge would be ejected. Clarkson had the extra attacker on for the remainder of the game but was unable to convert.
Michelle Pasiechnyk would make 22 saves for the Golden Knights.
Clarkson was 0 for 3 on the power play, and Colgate did not have any chances on the power play.
