Knights honor 2014 Team with a 1-0 win over Princeton

It was a great afternoon in Potsdam, as the Knights got their second win of the weekend and ran their record to 9-0-1 on the season and the fans at Cheel honored the 2014 NCAA National Champions.

Clarkson proved today in can win the tight defensive struggle, as it got the lead early and then locked down the Tigers.   At 10:29 of the first, Nicole Gosling netted her 3rd of the season, with assists from Haley Winn and Brooke McQuigge to put the Knights up 1-0.  The goal was a power play tally, making the Knights 1 for 4 with the advantage.

That lead would last as the Knights held the Tigers to only 9 shots in the final two periods and just 15 shots for the game.  This keeps an amazing string of 10 straight games the Knights have held an opponent to 20 shots or less.  For Michelle Pasiechnyk it was her 3rd shut out of the season.

The win moves the Knights up to 4th in the Pairwise and will most assuredly move them into the top 5 of the national polls.

The jerseys worn today will be available to purchase via auction Jersey Auction Info

In a post-game ceremony the 2014 National Championship Team was honored.  President Christensen introduced the team and Head Coach of the 2014 Team, Shannon Desrosiers also spoke to the team and crowd.  Jamie Lee Rattray also spoke on behalf of the team.
