The Knights were looking to get out to a fast start and they would jump out to a quick lead when they scored just 50 seconds into the game, as
Mathieu Gosselin continued to stay hot, netting his 5th goal of the game. Later in the period,
Noah Beck went down after a hit along the boards. The review would assess Brown a major penalty and the Knights extended their lead when
Anthony Callin scored his 7th of the season.
The Knights were outshooting the Bears 19 to 2 after the first period.
Clarkson would give up a Brown power-play goal at 7:40 of the 2nd period to pull the Bears to within 1.
Brown would tie the game in the 3rd period, at 5:38, when Ryan Bottrill scored for the Bears.
The game would head to a 3-on-3 overtime, in which the teams traded possessions off the opening faceoff, but none generating any great chances.
Overtime would not solve the contest, so the game went to a shootout.
Alex Campbell would shoot first for the Knights and would beat the goalie, but hit the crossbar.
Ethan Haider would save Brown's first shot.
Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup would not convert on his chance and Brown was able to take the 1-0 lead.
Mathieu Gosselin would score and Haider would make the save on the 3rd attempt to send it to the sudden death round.
Ayrton Martino would not convert and Brown's Samuli Ninnisaari would tuck a shot home to get the Bears an extra point.
The Knights would end up outshooting the Bears 38-21 and
