On World Girls' Ice Hockey Weekend, Clarkson was able to complete the weekend sweep of St. Lawrence with a 4-1 win in front a great crowd of over 900 at Cheel Arena.
Like Friday, the Saints jumped out to a 1-0 lead on an early Power Play goal from Kristina Bahl. Clarkson was able to answer back at 17:17 when
Anne Cherkowski scored her first as a Golden Knight.
Clarkson took the lead when
Caitrin Lonergan scored her 4th of the year at 12:49 of the 2nd period. From that point on Clarkson was able to use their forecheck to hold St. Lawrence to 7 shots in the 3rd period of play. When the Saints pulled their goalie with about 2 minutes left, Clarkson was able to get control of the puck and Lonergan got her second of the game on the empty net. Kristina Schular got her first as a Golden Knight at 19:21 to put the game out of reach.
Clarkson was 0 for 4 on the power play while SLU was 1 for 2.
Michelle Pasiechnyk made 17 saves for her 4th win on the year. Clarkson out shot the Saints 29 to 18.
Clarkson will spend the next 3 weekends on the road as they head to Bemidji, MN next weekend.
