5/25/2020 11:40:00 AM

A standout on the ice and in the classroom, Devin Brosseau from the Clarkson University Men's Hockey team was recently chosen as a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection. The St. Lambert, Quebec native was named to the 2020 Academic District 1, NCAA Division I Men's At-Large Team. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.

CoSIDA NCAA Division I District 1 Team

Unlike years past, the awards through CoSIDA this spring were based upon cumulative grade-point average and career athletic accomplishments rather than the cumulative grade-point average and the honors and highlights from a singular season.

Brosseau, who also earned the honor in 2018, compiled a 3.93 grade point average while working towards his MBA this season. A two-year captain for the Golden Knights, he helped to lead Clarkson to its best regular-season record in 23 years this winter with a 23-8-3 overall mark and most conference victories since 1998-99. A 2020 Third-Team ECAC Hockey All-Star, Brosseau was named the 2019 ECAC Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year along with earning MVP honors at the 2019 conference championship tournament. Also a standout in the community, he was a Top 5 Finalists for the 2020 Hockey Humanitarian Award. Brosseau completed his Clarkson career with 112 points on 40 goals and 72 assists in 144 games. He signed a to a two-year American Hockey League (AHL) contract with the Bakersfield Condors in early April.

Brosseau became the eighth student-athlete from Clarkson to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors this year, joining Jacob Baker (men's swimmng). Maddie Bredehoeft (volleyball), Nate Burns (baseball), John Furcick (men's soccer), Kate Isaksen (volleyball), Danielle Martin (women's soccer) and Ian Roeloffs (men's soccer).
