Isaksen Picked as CoSIDA Academic All-American

For the second straight year, senior Kate Isaksen of the Clarkson University Volleyball team was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-American team when the organization announced its award winners on Wednesday afternoon.

Isaksen, who received Third-Team Academic All-American honors, joins John Furcick of the Golden Knights' Men's Soccer team as Academic All-Americans this year. She is the first Clarkson Volleyball player to gain the recognition more than once and is only the fifth student-athlete in the last decade to receive multiple honors at Clarkson, joining Furcick (two-time selection), Christine Wright (two-time selection), John Coleman (five-time selection across two sports) and David Goerold (two-time selection).

Isaksen has a 3.69 grade-point average through seven semesters and is a three-time AVCA All-American, receiving AVCA Second-Team honors in 2019. She was also picked as the ECAC Division III Defensive Player of the Year for the third straight season. She finished her collegiate career seventh all-time in NCAA Division III history in digs with 3217 while ranking ninth all-time in digs per set (6.60 dps), the only athlete to rank so highly while playing their entire career in the 25-points per set era. She was also a four-time Liberty League All-Star and was picked as the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championships Potsdam Regional Most Outstanding Player.
