Award season for NCAA Division III Volleyball finally came to an end on Wednesday, as junior Kate Isaksen of the Clarkson University Volleyball team added more lines to her already impressive student-athlete resume when she was named a Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-American and picked as the Division III ECAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Isaksen was named a Google Cloud/CoSIDA Second-Team Academic All-American thanks to her 3.75 grade-point average (majoring in both Computer Science and Mathematics) and her excellence on the court. She was also picked as the Division III ECAC Defensive Player of the Year, not at all surprising since she won ECAC North Defensive Player of the Month in both September and October. Isaksen was one of seven players picked for Division III All-ECAC.

Isaksen ranked second in the nation in digs per set (7.97), the third-highest figure in the 25-points per set era, which dates to 2008, and her 901 total digs were the seventh-most in that stretch as well. She ranks third on the active leaderboard in total digs, but with the exhaustion of eligibility of numerous other players with the conclusion of the 2018 season, she will top that category by a wide margin at the start of 2019 as the only player in Division III with more than 2000 digs.

In addition to the awards she received this week, Isaksen was picked as an AVCA First-Team All-American and the AVCA New York Region Player of the Year.
