Isaksen Adds to Cache of Awards, Named Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-District

Already a conference and region all-star as well as AVCA First-Team All-American, Kate Isaksen of the Clarkson University Volleyball team added another honor to an already lengthy list on Thursday when she was picked as a Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 selection for her outstanding work on the court and in the classroom.

Isaksen, who earned the honor as a sophomore in 2017 as well, owns a 3.75 grade-point average through five semesters while majoring in both Computer Science and Mathematics. Isaksen is the fifth Clarkson Volleyball player to earn the honor multiple times, joining Rachael Aird (2016-17), Victoria Kirkemo (2014-15), Erika Chin (2011-13) and Suzanne Clarvoe (2004-05).

Isaksen ranked second in the nation in digs per set (7.97), the third-highest figure in the 25-points per set era, which dates to 2008, and her 901 total digs were the seventh-most in that stretch as well. She ranks third on the active leaderboard in total digs, but with the exhaustion of eligibility of numerous other players with the conclusion of the 2018 season, she will top that category by a wide margin at the start of 2019 as the only player in Division III with more than 2000 digs.
