CU Volleyball Preview - vs. Oswego State (10/3)

After its first weekend off in more than a month, the Clarkson University Volleyball team will be back in action on Tuesday when it takes on Oswego State in its second straight home match at Alumni Gymnasium.

The Series: The Golden Knights need one more win to even the all-time series, trailing 18-19 since the matchup began back in 1977. Clarkson has gone 8-2 against the Lakers since the turn of the century, winning five straight since 2003.

Key Stats for Clarkson (8-6): After a four-set match against St. Lawrence, sophomore Kate Isaksen saw her digs per set total dip slightly and she dropped for fourth in the nation in that category (6.59), and the Golden Knights still rank 15th nationally (19.41 dps) as a team in that category. Senior Rachael Aird ranks in the top eight in the Liberty League in kills per set (3.31), blocks per set (0.63) and hitting percentage (.271).

Key Stats for Oswego State (7-9): Only one Oswego player averages more than two kills per set, with sophomore Shauna O'Flaherty barely topping the number at 2.02 kps. The Lakers possess a string of solid servers as four different players average at least one ace per match. Alison Sullivan is averaging a block per set, including 23 solo efforts and 37 block assists.
