Canton, NY – Junior Drew Reigelsperger fell just short of conference all-star honors as he helped lead the Clarkson University Cross Country team at the Liberty League Cross Country Championships, held at the Ronald C. Hoffmann Course on the campus of St. Lawrence University.

The Golden Knights' men finished in seventh place among nine teams with 186 points, trailing RPI (22), St. Lawrence University (69), RIT (83), Vassar College (112), Ithaca College (131 and Union College (177), but ahead of Hobart College (255) and Bard College (272). The Clarkson women placed eighth out of nine squads with 241 points, ahead of Bard College (283), but behind Vassar College (36), St. Lawrence University (69), RPI (75), Ithaca College (86), RIT (104), Union College (165), and William Smith College (221).

MEN'S RESULTS (8K)
WOMEN'S RESULTS (6K)

The course was a bit wet and muddy after two days of rain in the North Country, slowing times somewhat compared to last year when St. Lawrence hosted the race on its home turf as well. The top time for the men went to St. Lawrence's Nicholas Lyndaker (25:16.6) and RPI's Jules Bleskoski won the women's race in 21:17.3.

Reigelsperger ended up in 23rd place, just two spots short of Liberty League Honorable Mention, with a time of 26 minutes, 34.1 seconds in the 8000-meter race, putting him in the top quarter of the 114 participants in the event. Next for the Golden Knights was Matthew Clarner, who placed 34th with a time of 27:00.1. The next two runners for the Knights were separated by less than seven seconds, as James Lynch took the 67th spot in 27:57.3 and Frank Consolazio claimed 71st in 28:04.1. Closing out the team score was Spencer Reese just one spot later, as he ended in 28:07.2 for 72nd place. Kaleb Swartley (28:15.4, 75th) and Jack Zieber (28:19.9, 77th) were the next two runners for the Knights.

On the women's side, Gianna Capoccia was the top finisher for the Golden Knights, ending up just inside the top half of the field of 101 runners in 50th place in 25:07.8 over the course of 6000-meters. Clarkson then had three more runners grouped together and separated by just nine spots in the field. Janneke Baks took 72nd in 26:48.4 and was followed by Meagan Speizer in 74th place in a time of 26:54.1. Skylar Francis then placed 80th in 27:25.2, but it was a bit longer before the Knights could finish off their team score as Madeline Bresnan finished off the race in 29:45.4, good enough for 93rd. Clarkson's next two runners as alternate scorers were Meilin Lamanna (30:17.2, 95th) an Elizabeth Kraynak (31:03.2, 97th).
