After a standout performance this past weekend at the Hamilton Invitational, Matthew Clarner of the Clarkson University Men's Cross Country team has been selected as the Liberty League Rookie of the Week.

Clarner finished 10th in the field of 80 runners in Clinton, NY, finishing off the 8000-meter course in 26 minutes, 40.1 seconds, a little less than a minute off the pace of the top runner. Clarner, a sophomore, is in his first season with the Golden Knights' cross country program, and has already made impressive strides, having trimmed 40 seconds off his previous 8K race a month ago in Middlebury, the last time that he participated in a collegiate event.

Joining Clarner on the Liberty League Honor Roll this week was teammate Drew Reigelsperger, Paul Rolland (men's soccer), Paige Ford (women's soccer), and Conley Burns and Ashley Currier (volleyball).
