Sitting atop the Liberty League standings with four conference games remaining, the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team is in a position to not only clinch a playoff berth this weekend, but also possibly the guarantee of a home match in the postseason as the Golden Knights look to remain unbeaten in league play with away games at Bard College and Vassar College.

The Series vs. Bard: Since the Raptors joined the conference in 2011, Clarkson is 7-1-0 in eight meetings against Bard. Clarkson has won four straight against Bard, including three consecutive shutouts where the Knights outshot the Raptors 53-18.

The Series vs. Vassar: The Brewers hold a 9-6-4 edge against Clarkson since 2000, when Vassar joined the UCAA (now the Liberty League). Clarkson did come away with a win last year, beating Vassar in overtime on a James Homan goal in the 96th minute.

Key Stats for Clarkson (7-3-2, 3-0-2 Liberty League): Ranked seventh in the region, the Golden Knights are beating teams with their defense. Clarkson has scored just 14 goals in 12 games, with 10 different players accounting for at least one goal and none producing more than three. However, consistent defense puts the Knights on top in most games this year. Junior Greg Schebece leads the team in minutes played (1013), freshman Kyle Jackson is second (912) and Brandon Bahr, despite missing two games, ranks third (801) among field players. Senior Ian Roeloffs has played well between the posts and has been the beneficiary of the consistent defense in front of him. In five league contests, Roeloffs has a 0.18 goals against average, .957 save percentage, and four shutouts.

Key Stats for Bard (1-10-1, 0-5-0 Liberty League): Junior goalkeeper Logan Leppo averages 7.08 saves per game, two more than any other goalkeeper in the conference. Leppo has been particularly busy of late, producing double-digit save efforts against SUNY Purchase (13), Rensselaer (11) and Union (10), moving his numbers for the year to a 2.14 goals against average and .794 save percentage. Bard has needed that effort, as the team is getting outscored (30-6) and outshot (222-72) by wide margins.

Key Stats for Vassar (5-6-1, 2-2-0 Liberty League): Goalkeeper Will Marment last played against Bard and posted a 0.56 goals against average and .810 save percentage in seven contests, but he has been absent for the past three games for the Brewers, replaced by Eric Wnorowski, who posted a 1.67 goals against average and .688 save percentage in that span. Offensively, the Brewers are a lot like Clarkson, spreading the goals out among a variety of players. Vassar's 12 goals this season have been scored by eight different players with Eamon Geraghty, Hawkins Barratt Heitmann, Owen Fauth, and Ryan Lane each accounting for two.
