CU Men's Soccer Preview - at St. Lawrence (10/29)

Although it season will not continue into the postseason, the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team has a chance to play spoiler on Saturday when the Golden Knights travel down the road to take on rival St. Lawrence.
 
Clarkson is 6-7-2 overall on the season and has a 2-4-1 Liberty League record. The Green and Gold are coming off a 3-2 overtime loss at Potsdam State on Tuesday night. Clarkson got goals from Aiden Subra and Kevin Calnan, the two leading scorers. Calnan is first on the team with 14 points on five goals and four assists while Subra has nine points through four goals and an assist. Subra's nine points are the most for a freshman since Marco Parisi's 12 points in 2012. Calnan is looking to be the first player to lead Clarkson outright in assists in consecutive seasons since Mike Kirmse did in the 1991 and 1992 seasons.
 
Michael King has started 14 games this season and has a 0.69 goals against average and a 0.865 save percentage. King leads the Liberty League in shutouts, saves per game, and save percentage and is second in goals against average. The senior goalkeeper is also 13th in the country in save percentage and 32nd in goals against average.
 
St. Lawrence has an 11-3-0 overall record and a 4-3-0 conference mark. The Saints sit one point out of the fourth and final playoff spot and will need a victory along with help to make the conference postseason. St. Lawrence is coming off  a 2-1 win  at RIT and will be trying to win consecutive games for the first time since September 30th and October 1st. Clarkson has an all-time record of 12-45-5 against the Saints. The last time the two teams met in Canton in 2014, Clarkson fell 2-1 with St. Lawrence scoring the game-winning goal in the 88th minute.  
 
The two teams will get started at 2:00 pm on Saturday afternoon.
