SLU Shuts Out Clarkson 5-0

Canton, NY - A diverse attack that saw five different players score a goal led the 18th-ranked St. Lawrence to a 5-0 victory over the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team in the Golden Knights season-finale Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights closed out the season with a 2-12-3 mark and a 1-6-1 in the Liberty League, while St. Lawrence improved to 13-2-2 overall and 5-2-1 in conference games.

St. Lawrence picked up its first goal in the 12th minute when Seyefe Brouck tallied what would prove to be the game-winner. Clarkson held tough in the first half, but a late goal from Mark Provost in the 43rd minute altered the complexion of the game for the Knights. A goal from Brian Gilloran in the 50th minute and scores from Harry Copeland (64th minute) and Pete Walsh (89th) accounted for the final tallies.

St. Lawrence held a 23-2 edge in shot and had an 8-1 lead in corner kicks. Clarkson senior goalkeeper Saverino Spagnolo (Ottawa, ONT) made seven saves in the game while three goalkeepers combined for the shutout for St. Lawrence with Aaron Costello making the lone save and Nate Goss-Woliner earning the victory.
