Kielly named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week

For the third time this season, Clarkson University's Jake Kielly has been named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week. 

Kielly backstopped Clarkson to the weekend home-and-home sweep of archrival St. Lawrence and in the process helped extend the Golden Knights' winning streak to 11 games. The Eden Prairie, MN native made 26 saves while allowing only a power-play goal in Friday's 3-1 win over St. Lawrence at Cheel Arena. He then followed with 25 stops in Saturday's 4-2 victory in Canton.

Kielly has played every minute in the Clarkson crease this season, helping to lead the Knights to one of the best starts ever in the program's 96-year history. The sophomore boasts some of the best statistics in the country, leading Division I in goals against average (1.42), third in save percentage (.947), tied for first in wins (15) and leading the nation in shutouts (5).

Clarkson at 15-3-1 overall, is now off until Tuesday, January 2 when they host Canisius in a non-league game at Cheel Arena, A perfect 8-0-0 in ECAC Hockey play the Green and Gold return to conference action on January 12 at Union.
