Clarkson University Athletics

JUNIOR SEASON (2025-26):  Hurry was named Assistant Captain and continued her development into one of Clarkson’s leading defensemen during a productive junior season. She appeared in all 35 games and established career highs with five goals, 13 assists and 18 points. Hurry led the Golden Knights with 41 blocked shots, recorded 118 shots on goal and finished with a plus-11 rating. Her 18 points were the most among Clarkson’s upperclass defensemen.  

Hurry delivered one of the strongest performances of her career in Clarkson’s 5-2 victory at Union on October 24. She scored twice on the power play, helping the Golden Knights open ECAC Hockey competition with a road victory. Her two power-play goals were the most by a Clarkson player in a single game during the season.  The London, Ontario, native added another important power-play goal at Cornell on January 9. Hurry fired a wrist shot through traffic during the third period as Clarkson erased a three-goal deficit and earned a 5-5 tie. She also contributed during the postseason, assisting on Clarkson’s goal against Union in the opening round of the ECAC Hockey playoffs.

Hurry finished the season with three power-play goals and provided Clarkson with a consistent combination of offense, shot blocking and experience along the blue line. Her performance in the classroom was also recognized when she earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors. With career highs in goals and points, Hurry completed a strong junior season and further established herself as an important part of the Golden Knights’ defensive corps.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2024-25): Hurry established herself as a dependable two-way defenseman during her sophomore season at Clarkson, appearing in all 40 games for the Golden Knights. She recorded two goals and 13 assists for 15 points, finishing second among Clarkson defensemen in assists and tied for second in points. Hurry also registered 96 shots, blocked 41 shots and finished with a plus-11 rating.

Hurry scored her first goal of the season in Clarkson’s home opener against Saint Michael’s on September 27. Moving into the offensive zone, she converted a feed from Sidney Fess to extend the Golden Knights’ lead during the second period. She continued to contribute throughout the year as a puck-moving presence from the blue line.  One of Hurry’s notable assists came at Colgate on January 4. With Clarkson trailing late in the third period, she helped set up Nicole Gosling’s goal with five seconds remaining, pulling the Golden Knights within one. Hurry remained a regular part of Clarkson’s defensive rotation throughout conference play and the postseason.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2023-24):   Hurry was selected to the ECAC All Rookie Team and named a finalist for ECAC Rookie of the Year..She scored 5 goals and 10 assists from the point to lead all freshman for Clarkson...She contributed 3 power play goals and had a +20 rating...Named ECAC All Academic and named an AHCA/Krampade Academic All American.

The Back of the Hockey Card:  Keira is a 5’9” left shot Defense from London, Ontario….Hurry played in 36 games for the London Jr. Devilettes, scoring 9 goals and 28 assists for 37 points.

Get to know Keira:  Keira is the daughter of Shelly Hurry & David Hurry…has a brother, Davin Hurry, attending Western University…Enjoys the outdoors…Played on the 2023 U18 Women's National Team Canada and won the gold medal at the 2023 U18 Women's IIHF World Championships… Graduated from London South Collegiate Institute in 2023…Will major in Biology.

On choosing Clarkson:  I chose Clarkson because it was a smaller school with a successful women's hockey team with great coaches and players, lots of academic options, beautiful campus in a nice city, and a welcoming environment. Also recruited by Penn State, Yale, & St. Lawrence.
