Mike Hauser is entering his third season as top assistant coach for the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team for the 2013-14 season.
A native of East Williston, NY, Hauser graduated from Bowdoin College in 2010 with a degree in economics. A four-year member of the Polar Bears' basketball team, Hauser was the starting point guard for the 2007-08 Bowdoin squad that set the school-record for victories in a season (22) and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Hauser played 105 games at Bowdoin, the most in school history, and helped lead his teams to a 67-38 record over four seasons. He ranks third all-time in assists (415) and eighth in free throw percentage (83.3%). More of a playmaker than a scorer, Hauser still accumulated 441 points in his career, making 85 3-pointers. He was also elected to the NESCAC All-Sportsmanship Team for the 2009-10 season when he captained the Polar Bears.
Hauser also was a member of a USA Athletes International basketball team that traveled to Ireland, representing the United States in a basketball tournament while also holding clinics and instructional practices.
Prior to coming to Clarkson, Hauser worked for North Shore-LIJ Health System as a procurement analyst. He began his coaching career at the same time, working as head coach for the Long Island Lightning AAU team.
