Austin "Skip" Fox enters his sixth season as the Clarkson University Alpine Skiing coach for the 2014-15 season, having led the Golden Knights to some of their best finishes ever at the USCSA National Championships in the last three years. The men's team placed fourth among 19 teams in 2013, while the women came in third among 20 squads in 2012, easily their best mark ever at the USCSA Nationals. The Knights enjoyed their best combined mark ever in 2014, however, as the men took second overall and the women tied for sixth. For the third straight season, Clarkson battled through the tough ECSC MacConnell Division, and qualified for the USCSA Eastern Regionals before advancing to the Nationals. Fox was chosen as the MacConnell Division's Coach of the Year for the second straight season in 2014.
Fox also serves as the department's head of outdoor recreation.
Fox, who previously resided in Dorset, VT, is a graduate of Johnson State College where he received a degree in Business Management. Prior to his new position at Clarkson, Fox won a USCSA National Championship in 2008 with the University of Massachusetts. He served as the head coach for the program from 2006 to 2009.
